USA Airline Carrier

Orbis International delivers 138 tonnes of airline training modules for a major USA carrier.

The Challenge

This was a blue chip project for a commercial American airline. This project was originally planned to go Ocean freight, but due to supply chain issues and rescheduling in the training programme at head office Houston, a last-minute decision was made to airfreight. Due to peak season capacity and incorrect packing format for Airfreight, we had to sit down with the engineers and discuss a total strip down and repack of this cargo. The cargo had to be packed contour to reduce the overall chargeable weight by the carrier, and several conference calls with the loadmasters in Luxembourg were needed to agree on loading and pivot positions on the aircraft.

The Result

All cargo arrived at Houston Airport on budget and on time. The USA Airline were delighted with our communication throughout and all equipment was installed on time and the new training centre George Bush International Terminal Houston. We also got a personal thank you from the UK Airline, for our constant and accurate communication, knowledge of technical drawings, and ability to work professionally with all parts of the supply chain.
